Which Airports Do You Most Hate Landing At?

Does landing at SFO always make you jittery? Will you now avoid the airport in the future? Tell us in the comments.

I can imagine what many of the passengers on Asiana Flight 214 were thinking as their Boeing 777 descended over San Francisco Bay to land on Runway 28 at SFO — especially those who've never been here before.

Are we going to hit the water? Or, wow! This runway is basically IN the water.

It's a fact of airport life. Some airports are just in scary places to guide a massive airborne vessel to the ground. Add to that the weather issues at SFO (two runways close together in heavy fog), and you get the picture.

Take Burbank, where planes cross so closely over cars passing below you can see the drivers, not to mention the dense concentration of office buildings surrounding the airfield. Or John Wayne in Orange County where the dynamics of the take-off require a lean-back-in-your-seat rocket-like steep ascent into the sky.

Have you ever had what you think to be a close call on an SFO runway? What other airports do you hate landing at? Now that there's been a serious crash, do you plan to travel via Oakland or San Jose instead?
