I'm the Government Affairs Director for the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS®. A San Jose State alum with an undergrad in Journalism, I'm a veteran of the public policy, legislative and political landscape locally, in Sacramento, and in Washington, D.C.
(As they say, "If you love the law... or sausages, you should see neither one being made." Yep, I've seen both.) I've logged more than 25 years of experience in managing government relations, community engagement, public policy implementation, legislative advocacy, public affairs, communications planning, and media relations (whew!). While I haven't 'seen it all' when it comes to politics, legislation and - on occasion - baffling reasoning for local, state or federal statutes and campaigns - I've come pretty close. My approach is to provide some commentary, shed a little sanity, call some to task (if needed) and laud others (if warranted) and, perhaps point out the obvious but often overlooked aspects of an issue.
