Alexis Petru is a staff writer for the national environmental website, Earth911.com. Prior to joining Earth911.com, she managed environmental programs for various Bay Area cities and counties for seven years.

Alexis became a Southern California ex-patriot when she moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley. She and her husband settled in San Bruno three years ago.
