10.   The Interact, Leos and Scouts - - weren't they great?   What a pleasure to have the support of so many volunteer youth groups.   It really inspires me to make the MCYC happen!

9.    The Rotaractors - - So much energy and commitment, AND, they can pour beer, run the games, and organize an army at the same time.   They blew me away!

8.    The RAFFLE PRIZES - -   A BMW !   Dinner for 10 at Magnolia ! !  $100 of Trader Joe's gift certificates !   Gift baskets of chocolates, Bavarian picnics, a DVD player, and so much more!    I'm still bummed that I didn't win any of the raffle prizes.    :-(

7.    The weather - - I have this vivid memory at the September 28 organizing committee meeting when Joe Teresi pulled out his iPad and announced that the 10 day forecast showed sunshine.  With storm clouds all week, it almost seems that "the heavens parted" to beam sunshine down on our event.

6.   The FOOD - - So many wonderful food  and food service donors.   What heart warming (and stomach filling) support.  And my personal thanks to Rick for the Sauerkraut recipe.  It was a hit!

5.   The BAND - - Thank you Denis Fama for donating the Elk's Club Band.  Not only did they entertain us, but they brought their groupies and bought a bunch of raffle tickets.  And they sounded great!  (I'm not prejudiced at all, of course)

4.   My fellow Lions - - - If the Lions are cooking you never need to worry.  Cross it off the list.  The food will be a success.   And we were out in full force on Saturday, with 16 Lions and two spouses.

3.   The Millbrae Community Foundation - - Not just for seed money, but for total enthusiastic support in every aspect of the event.  Like the successful Silicon Valley venture capital firms, they don't just write a check, they enthusiastically got involved to help make the project a winner.

2.   The CASH donors and community supporters.   From ABC Windows to Walgreens, from Southwood Plumbing to Dawdy Photography, from NFL Alumni to Millbrae Square, from the City of Millbrae to the Peninsula Chinese Business Association, from the Holobers to the Quiggs.   You've all seen the list.   It's a heartwarming tribute to our town and its people.

1.   The MILLBRAE ROTARY CLUB for the original idea, for being totally committed to the success of this venture, and for building the tremendous support all across our community.  This is a shining example of their good works, and their good people.  Hats off to the Rotary Club!   Raise those beer mugs and give three cheers!
