Go Green This Sunday

Burlingame's fifth Green Street Fair takes place this weekend.

The Burlingame Green Street Fair is back. Making its fifth appearance in town, sustainable and environmentally friendly living will take over Burlingame from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday.

In the Park Road parking lot next to Pet Food Express, more than 60 vendors will gather, showcasing the best of sustainable living and green business.

Featuring hands-on crafts and art projects, green cars and free samples, the Green Street Fair, organized by the Citizens Environmental Council, is a family-friendly, free event.

More than 1,000 residents are expected to participate in the fair, meandering through the vendor’s booths, checking out natural products, energy-saving upgrades for the home, how-to's on growing an organic garden, free massages and more.

Children can try their hand at art projects using recycled materials or bicycle-powered spin art.

Also, make sure not to miss the Bag Monster, a “monster” dressed in hundred of plastic bags.

This year, the fair is coupled with a recycling event by Universal Waste Management. The company will collect clothing, electronic appliances and household appliances.
