Great Canton Style Vegetarian Chinese Restaurant on Broadway in Millbrae

        To all vegetarians and vegans in the Millbrae area, I just want to alert you to a great vegetarian restaurant, Vegetarian Bamboo Garden, a Canton style Chinese restaurant located at 309 Broadway in Millbrae.  They have been opened for a few months now, they have been struggling and briefly started including meat dishes in their menu to try to appeal to a broader customer base, but they realized that was the wrong way to go and have gone back to being veggie only.  They’ve got some remodeling going on up front, so the place looks a little “under construction” right now, but they fully open for business and I hope you all will give it a try.  Their menu is primarily vegan, but they use a lot of meat substitutes, so if you are afraid you might not be able to fill up on light vegan fair, there will plenty of hearty dishes for you to enjoy and fill up on.

    For all you meat eaters, I hope you will give it a try as well.  No, the faux meat alternative dishes do not taste exactly like the meat they are replacing, but they are all quite tasty, and it’s a great opportunity to take a break from the cholesterol and growth hormones that are in the meat products you are regularly eating.

    On a last note, when I first went to Vegetarian Bamboo Garden, they were going through some growing pains and had some issues with bringing the wrong orders to our table, but they have worked hard to address this, and when we went there last night, they were very careful to confirm that everything they brought was exactly what we wanted, and everything was perfectly true to order.

    So all vegetarians and vegans, I strongly recommend you try out this restaurant, and if you like it, return regularly so we keep this excellent vegetarian option available in our local area.  For all you meat eaters, I strongly recommend you give Vegetarian Bamboo Gardens a try.  The food is delicious, and it’s a great place to go with your vegetarian or vegan friends who often have a hard time finding reasonable culinary choices at conventional restaurants, of which there is an abundance in our area.
