South San Francisco High pushed three runs across the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning to defeat Mills High School 3-2 Tuesday afternoon at Orange Park in PAL action.
"It's been a long, tough season for us," said South City Coach Daryl Semien. "So this was a good one to get."

Down 2-0 as the 5th inning began, Warrior first baseman Gregorio Jimenez singled in two runs with the bases loaded off Mills starting pitcher Joey Carney.
The hard-throwing Carney took the loss, despite striking out twelve Warrior batters. He walked five. South San Francisco pitcher Joe Marcucci was the winner, moving his record to 4-3 with an ERA of 2.00. Marcucci had 10 strikeouts.

3rd baseman Bryan Hidalgo and catcher Sean McHugh notched two hits apiece for Mills. Jimenez had two hits for South City.
Mills drops to 14-12 overall, 8-5 in PAL action. South San Francisco improves to 7-19, with a 5-8 PAL record.
The two teams will conclude their seasons by playing each other Thursday at 4:00 p.m on the Mills' diamond.
