Get out the Ticker Tape, the World Champion Giants are Coming Home!

The parade honoring the Giants' World Series victory over the Detroit Tigers will start at the foot of Market Street at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

San Francisco will hold a ticker tape parade and civic celebration in honor of the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, Mayor Ed Lee announced today.

The parade in honor of the Giants' World Series victory against the Detroit Tigers will start at 11 a.m. at the foot of Market Street and continue to Civic Center Plaza, Lee said.

The Giants swept the Tigers, winning the series in Game 4 in Detroit tonight with a 4-3 victory. It is the team's second World Series win in three years. The streets of San Francisco are filled with celebrating fans following the win and the sound of car horns and fireworks are reportedly being heard all over the city.

"The rain in Detroit couldn't dampen the drive, talent and determination of the San Francisco Giants team tonight," Lee said in a statement tonight. "Once again, the Giants brought our City together as we all cheered on our hometown heroes to another remarkable World Series victory."
