Talent Show Leads Off Last Week of School

Green Hills Talent Show begins last week of school. What are your kids saying about events this week?

The National Anthem sung by two sisters and their brother, all Green Hills students, was a great beginning for the annual Green Hills Elementary School Talent Show.  The Multi Use room was packed with students and parents on Tuesday who came to see a variety of acts performed by some very talented children.

This year there were songs performed on electric guitar, piano and violin.  Small groups danced to pop tunes.  Ballet and cultural dances with beautiful costumes graced the stage.  There were demonstrations of martial arts and hula-hoops.  Singers performed their favorite songs of all styles.

The kids worked hard practicing for three weeks before today's show. A great stage crew kept things running smoothly behind the curtain. Thank you to Mrs. Althaus, the teacher in charge, for coordinating it all. Once again the Green Hills team provided top quality entertainment.

In these last few days of school,  there will be class picnics and pizza parties,  play-day (or field day for us old-timers) and promotion ceremonies for 5th and 8th grade students.  My kids will miss seeing their friends and teachers everyday,  so it is with mixed emotions they say goodbye for the summer.  Anyone out there have any comments on the last week of school and what it means to your kids?
