Scouts Have Blast at Rocket Launch

Pack 355 Cub Scouts blast off rockets at Linda Mar beach

Cub Scout Pack 355 of Millbrae gathered on Linda Mar beach in Pacifica Sunday morning to launch rockets the boys made. Morning fog didn't dampen the enthusiasm of these rocket men.  Most took off and flew high.  Some landed on the beach and nearby dunes,  others landed in the water and were returned to the scouts by surfers.  It was quite a spectacle!

Every year, weather permitting, the boys gather for this event.  Master of ceremonies and launch leader was Scoutmaster Craig Cooper.  Den leaders DeAnna and Lili plus other parents helped set up the launch . The rocket makers got to push big red buttons after a traditional 3 - 2 - 1 countdown to send their rockets high into the air. The boys had a blast!

The next big thing for the Cub Scouts will be the annual canned food drive, scheduled for the week of Nov 12-19th.  Look for door hangers explaining how to leave your cans for pick up.  These scouts work very hard and do good things for the community.  Please support their efforts.

One note to scout leaders:  maybe pack 355 could list activities and pack meetings on the Millbrae Patch website to make sure everyone knows times and dates in advance.  Just a thought, and no,  I don't get paid to write this stuff.  I just think like a mom, and I have three kids' schedules to keep track of,  so being able to find everything in one place would be great.  This goes for schools and rec center too.  This site could be a great community resource,  but it is only useful if the info is accurate and current.
