Millbrae High School Students Start Classes

Mills and Capuchino High Schools began classes this week.

My daughter started high school this week. Both and High Schools began classes on Tuesday. For freshman, it is a big change. They are the little fish in the big pond. Our kids are lucky to have great schools with terrific teachers and super administrators leading the way.

The kick off for the new school year for freshman was the orientation last week.  Guest facilitator Scott Greenberg gave students a jump-start for the new school year. Check out his website at www.scottgreenberg.com for more about this amazing man and how he motivates kids and adults to do their best.

Leadership students also played a key role in welcoming new students to campus, providing tours and answering questions. Their friendly faces and upbeat attitudes made my daughter feel more at home at her new school.

Ok, so there is one down side to back to school this week. The weather is finally sunny and warm,  just in time to spend all day inside a classroom. Both schools have major construction projects underway, which means noise and dust and parking problems. None of that seems to be of too much concern to the kids, however, they are just glad to be with their friends and back to their routines.

So here's a salute to the new school year - May your pencils always be sharp and your lunches never be soggy! Have fun, kids.
