Carnival Corral: St. Dunstan Festival Ropes in Western Theme

The St. Dunstan Fall Festival runs from 5-10 p.m. tonight, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The St. Dunstan 2011 Fall Festival kicks off tonight with carnival rides, line dancing and a teen dance.

Put on your boots and cowboy hat because the three-day festival’s theme is “Wild West Days.”

The runs from 5-10 p.m. tonight at 1150 Magnolia Ave. with indoor bingo and a dance (7-10 p.m.) for grades 6-8 featuring Wild 94.9 FM.

Saturday will feature the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, which will be on display from noon to 5 p.m., said Ann Woolen, festival chairwoman and office manager for .   

“There will be picture opportunities for people to sit on the coach,” Woolen said.

Carnival booths will include horse show throw, American food, wine and spirits, dunk tank and pumpkin decorating.

“They can come in select a pumpkin, decorate it and take it home with them,” Woolen said. “That’s what I’m going to be doing,” she joked.  

The annual fundraiser benefits the church and Catholic school.
