Millbrae School Board Introduces Three New Employees

School district regains a full-time chief business official.

The Millbrae School District Board of Trustees formally introduced three new hires at their meeting on Monday – a new chief business official, a principal for and a director of educational services.

Since the resignation of full-time CBO Cynthia Shieh in December, the district relied on two part-time employees to fill the position, Paul Disario and Michelle Dodge.

After months of searching, the district regained a full-time CBO, Wendy Richard, who comes from the Antioch Unified School District as director of fiscal services. She starts on July 1.

“I really look forward to being part of the team, and making sure that we have fiscal solvency, and ensure that our students get the most education that they can get,” Richards said.

The board also welcomed Debbie Burnette as the director of educational services. Previously, she was the assistant superintended of educational services for the Lammersville Elementary School District, near Tracy.

“Her breadth of experiences range from a small rural school of 70 students to a unified school district of over 18,000,” said Superintendent Linda Luna.

Lastly, the district introduced Claire Beltrami, the new principal of Lomita Park School. She replaces Lynne Ferrario, who retired this year.

Beltrami is a Millbrae resident, and her children attended Spring Valley Elementary and Taylor Middle School. Previously, she served as the principal of Belle Air Elementary in San Bruno.

She also worked for the San Francisco Unified School District for 14 years, and has a master’s degree in education leadership from University of California, Berkeley.

“My children went to this school district, and I think it’s a wonderful organization,” Beltrami said. “And I just want to contribute as much as I possibly can to continue the good work that’s been done so far.”
