Kids and Parents Walk to School

Parents ditch cars in an effort to raise health awareness.

There was more foot traffic yesterday morning at Green Hills Elementary School as students  joined forces with schools from 40 countries for the first-ever International Walk to School Day

The event was created as a wake up call to the rising obesity rates of children in the United States. 

Taylor Middle School was also among the 5,000 schools in the US that participated.

The event was organized by the San Mateo County School District, San Mateo County Health System, San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the National Center for Safe Routes to School.
