League of Women Voters meeting on Federal Role in Education

The Federal Government has long played a role in local public education, through legislation and court decisions as well as through funding.   Leagues of Women Voters throughout the United States will be studying this issue for the next two years.  What are the implications for California schools?  What effects  may political changes in Washington bring? Our local League is kicking off our study with the help of Ted Lempert, president of Children Now.  We invite everyone interested in public education to join us.
