Intro to Hockey Skating

Hockey buffs ages 6 to 14 will love the Millbrae Community Center's Intro to Hockey Skating classes held at the Ice Center in San Mateo. This class is designed to teach basic ice hockey skating skills. Basic forward skating is required to attend this class. Each of the six lessons will provide 30 minutes of instruction where students will learn to move, turn, and stop in a controlled manner. Balance and use of blade edges, critical to a hockey player will be emphasized. Helmets with face masks and sticks are required. This is not a hockey league but rather a class in learning how to skate. all students get 6 free practice sessions at one of the public skate sessions and class fee includes skate rentals. Be sure to dress warmly and wear thick socks!
