Supervisor District Boundaries To Be Discussed Tonight

The meeting is the third in a series of hearings held by a committee tasked with redrawing San Mateo County supervisor districts.

The third in a series of five meetings to discuss moving the boundaries of San Mateo County's supervisorial districts will be held in Millbrae tonight.

The meeting starts at 6:30pm in the Chetcuti Room at City Hall.

The Board of Supervisors is required to adjust its district borders based on updated population data from the 2010 national census. Any potential modification in district boundaries would not affect the county's voting process, in which all county residents are able to vote in each supervisorial race.

The League of Women Voters is facilitating the meetings, which wrap up July 18 in Daly City. The results of the meetings will be conveyed to the Board of Supervisors, which is expected to vote on a redistricting proposal in September.

More information on the process and the meetings can be found at www.co.sanmateo.ca.us.
