Obama Lands at SFO for Bay Area Fundraisers

Obama flew into the Bay Area Monday afternoon.

President Obama touched down at San Francisco International Airport Monday for a fundraising visit to the Bay Area.

He arrived on Air Force One at 1:50 p.m., waving and smiling to the crowd as he stepped out of the plane.

He spent about 10 minutes shaking hands, chatting and posing for photos with invited spectators before heading towards San Francisco.

Obama was scheduled to appear at a fundraiser at the InterContinental Hotel on Howard Street late Monday after before heading to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for a 5 p.m. dinner, rally and concert.

The $20,000 per person dinner is being prepared by celebrity chef Alice Waters.

Musicians John Legend and Michael Franti will perform, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith is expected to attend. Ticket prices for the concert range from $100 to $7,500.

Protests by the anit-war group "World Can't Wait" and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are planned near the Civic Center during Obama's visit.

The President is scheduled to leave San Francisco for Ohio Tuesday morning.
