Comparing County Manager Salaries

A list of county manager salaries throughout California.

In light of the received regarding former San Mateo County Manager John Maltbie, who will be rehired temporarily at $100 an hour, Patch compiled a list of county managers' salaries throughout the state.

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors  after the previous county manager resigned last month.

Maltbie will collect no more than $96,000 per year for his interim duties, yet also receives about $133,000 in annual pension benefits from his 20-year employment with the county.

At a $96,000 yearly maximum, Maltbie will work approximately 18.5 hours a week throughout the year.
