Appointee for Regional Water Agencies

Mayor Dan Quigg currently serves as Millbrae’s representative for both the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency and the Regional Water Financing Authority. He has held the position since January 2008, and informed the council that he wishes to extend his position through 2015. The council can select any Millbrae resident.

Waive Adult School Rental Fees

The San Mateo Union High School District Adult School, which offers enrichment programs for Millbrae seniors, is asking the city to waive facility rental fees at the Millbrae Community Center.

If the city does not waive the roughly $11,000 per year it charges the school, all Adult School senior programs will be cancelled.

Staff suggested that the city use money from the senior donation account and the general fund to waive about half of the $11,000 in rental fees. If approved, the Adult School would only cancel some classes or charge a drop-in fee.

Dolores Lia Apartments

City staff will update the council on the Dolores Lia apartment project. The city is working with the property owners to secure additional grants and loans to complete the project.
