Police Search for Men Who Tried to Lure Girls into Cars

Another cautionary tale from nearby. Two frightening incidents occurred on Thursday — one in San Bruno, the other in Burlingame — where a white male tried to lure a teenage girl into his car.

Police in San Bruno and Burlingame are still searching for a suspect or suspects who may have tried to lure teenage girls into a car earlier this week.

A 16-year-old San Bruno girl contacted police Thursday afternoon to report that a man had tried to get her into his vehicle around 1:20 p.m. on the 400 block of Mastick Avenue, according to San Bruno police.

The man, who was driving a blue, 1990s four-door sedan, pulled up beside her, made a rude gesture and asked the girl to come over to his car, police said.

The girl ignored him and walked away. The man was last seen driving west on Taylor Avenue.

The suspect in that incident was described as a Caucasian male in his 40s, bald and clean-shaven, and wearing a light blue button-up shirt.

Later that same day, around 3:55 p.m., a 13-year-old girl in Burlingame reported a similar incident.

The girl said she was walking in the area of Dwight Road and Bayswater Avenue when a shiny, light-blue, four-door vehicle pulled up next to her.

The man driving the car offered her cash and asked if she wanted to earn some money.

The girl said no and walked away, and the man drove away west on Bayswater from Dwight Road.

The suspect in the second incident was described as a white male in his 30s, with short blond hair and black-framed dark glasses.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call San Bruno police at (650) 616-7100 or Burlingame police at (650) 777-4100.
