Police Blotter: Solicitors with Sign Depicting Obama as Hitler

Monday, July 25

12:47p.m., 400 block of Broadway. An unknown man was reportedly seen vandalizing the vehicle of an elderly woman. The male subject left a scratch approximately one foot long on the victim's car. 

12:58p.m., 300 block of Marcella Way. An unknown suspect gained entry to a residence through breaking a window, then proceeded to steal jewelry. The victim was away from the residence at the time. 

1:36p.m., 500 block of Broadway. A group soliciting donations was reported to police as a disturbance to passersby because of a sign depicting President Obama with a "Hitler mustache." The group stopped soliciting political donations after being advised that proper city permits were needed to do so.  

5:03p.m., Lerida Avenue. A man reported to police that he had been "punched in the face" earlier that day, but did not want to press charged. 

Tuesday, July 26

12:49a.m., 400 block of E. Millbrae Avenue. A man reported that he had parked his car overnight at the Clarion Hotel. When he returned to his vehicle, he found that his car stereo was stolen and the dashboard and glove box were damaged.
