Police Blotter: Home Burglary and Car Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Millbrae Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, August 19 

10:45 a.m. Millbrae overpass. Two unknown subjects were sighted setting up an encampment.

2:17 p.m. 500 block of El Camino Real. A subject reportedly attempted to steal a bottle of alcohol from a Safeway supermarket. When confronted by the store manager, the subject returned the bottle and fled the area on foot. Following the incident, a police patrol car parked in front of the Safeway to deter further shoplifting incidents. 

2:43 p.m. 500 block of El Camino Real. The Safeway manager made a complaint to police that a male subject was placing bread around the perimeter of the store to feed birds. The subject had been warned by store employees not to do so previously. Police then instructed the man to clean up the litter and issued him a notification for trespassing. 


Saturday, August 20 

5:31 a.m. 1100 block of Landing Lane. A noise disturbance was reported to Millbrae Police of a loud house party in the area. Police attempted to contact the home owner who then refused to open the door to the residence to speak with police. A notification was left on the front door of the home. 

8:42 a.m. 100 block of Palm Avenue. A residence in the area was reportedly burglarized overnight. The victim suspected a friend of the crime. A laptop, iPhone, $200 dollars cash and various personal belongings were among the items taken. Both the victim and a roommate were home and unaware of the burglar while the crime was in progress. 


Sunday, August 21

8:58 a.m. A resident of the 400 block of Lincoln Circle reported that his vehicle was stolen overnight. The vehicle was recovered as it was involved in a hit and run accident that same night and towed. 

11:16 a.m. Center Street at El Camino Real. A grass fire was reported. Fire units responded and controlled the fire.

Monday, August 22

7:13 a.m. El Camino Real and La Cruz Avenue. A male subject was admonished by police for going through a dumpster of a Safeway supermarket.
