Police Blotter: Hate Crime Toward Jewish-Owned Business

Friday Oct. 28

1:50 p.m. 400 block of Helen Dr. A son and mother had an argument. She called police because she believed the son was under the influence of a drug and he was carrying a switch blade. Police found 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, and arrested the juvenile. 

5:13 p.m. Magnolia Ave. and Taylor Blvd. A vehicle hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries.

11:23 a.m. El Camino Real. Revivespa.net, a local website was hacked by someone that targets businesses owned by Jews. The hacker placed an offensive cartoon on the website, and the site has since been shut down. The case is mostly likely being referred to the FBI.

12:27 p.m. 200 block of Broadway. A person received a suspicious letter that may have been a scam to obtain personal information for identity theft purposes.
