Police Blotter: Banana Peel Thrower Evades Capture

Read highlights from the weekend's police log.

Friday, May 13

1:49 p.m., East Millbrae Avenue and Rollins Road: Police were unable to locate a person throwing banana peels.

7:46 p.m., 400 block of Lincoln Circle: A suspect was contacted at a recreation center for having a weapon in plain view. He was arrested and booked into county jail.

12:41 a.m., 800 block of Taylor Boulevard: Police discovered a garbage can on fire on a basketball court. No one was around.

8:51 a.m., 600 block of Guadalupe Avenue: A wife accused her husband of having an affair with two women. In addition, the wife found out the husband had filed for divorce, which angered her enough to throw household items at him, prompting him to call 911. He did not suffer any injuries and declined doing a citizen’s arrest on his wife. He was afraid for his and their kids' safety. The wife admitted to throwing items at her husband and to making suicide and murder statements out of anger.

7:45 p.m., 200 block of Aviador Avenue: Police responded to a family disturbance. Once police were on scene, the father alleged that his adult son and son’s wife stole a PS3 player from his house. A purse may have been taken from a bedroom bureau a month ago.

 

Sunday, May 15

3:15 p.m., 400 block of Richmond Drive: A mother was at her son's baseball game and her vehicle was parked at 555 Richmond Drive at the school district office. An unknown suspect used a tool to shatter the front passenger window and took her purse from the front passenger floorboard.

7:43 p.m., 400 block of Palm Avenue: A resident told police that the footprints on the back deck were someone else’s, including bare footprints. Officers checked the area and nothing suspicious was found. There were no broken screens and no pried windows or doors.
