Police Blotter: Ammo Donated by SFO Traveler, Body is Actually a Guitar Case

Millbrae Police Department highlights from March 28-29.

Monday, March 28

11:56 a.m., 500 block of Broadway: An elderly woman tried to wire $7,000 to an unknown location in Chico. Officers tried to persuade her not to send her money but she would not listen.

2:30 p.m., 300 block of Cedar Street: A large "jumper” was taken between 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. last night and today. No neighbors were home for questioning at time of report. The jumper was left in open bed trailer, not secured.

5:17 p.m., 200 block of San Luis Avenue: San Bruno police responded to a report of a man with a gun and called for assistance. The suspect was detained prior to Millbrae Police Department's arrival.

9:45 p.m., 800 block of Lomita Avenue: A woman came to Millbrae to locate her "wife," who had possibly returned to Millbrae to reunite with her ex-husband. The woman threw rocks at the bedroom windows to gain his attention. After he ignored several text messages to open the front door, the woman was issued a trespass notification. She blew a .08 BAC and was told to take a walk to sober up. Her car was moved out of the man’s driveway.

Tuesday, March 29

12:13 p.m., 500 block of El Camino Real: A suspect went into Safeway with the intent to steal a sandwich. While waiting in line, he changed his mind and decided to steal more than a sandwich. The man stole approximately $400 worth of items and exited the store without paying. The suspect was contacted outside the store, where he was placed under arrest and transported to county jail.

12:42 p.m., 400 block of Murchison Drive: A student at Mills High made threats of suicide. The student was placed on mental health hold and transported to Peninsula Hospital. The parents were notified by school staff.

2:29 p.m., Broadway: A resident reported finding two .45 caliber rounds on his doorstep and a "+" sign on his door for unknown reasons. The man stated that he was not concerned, but requested an information report.

5:37 p.m., 600 block of Hemlock Avenue. A resident on Aviador called about a "sleeper" inside a vehicle with Georgia plates. Officers found a blanket in the backseat that might be covering a body. Fire responded and unlocked the vehicle to determine if it was a body. It turned out to be a guitar case.

8:22 p.m., 400 East Millbrae Avenue. A man called MPD regarding transporting ammo on an airplane. He was advised that he was over the limit (weight) per the airline and did not know what to do with the ammo. He wanted to give MPD the ammo for the range program. He gave MPD approximately 100 rounds of .45 caliber pistol ammo. Property report taken and ammo booked into MPD evidence locker for range masters’ use.
