Police Ask For Public's Help in Tracking Down Robbery Suspects

Two men wearing ski masks robbed a Burlingame man on New Year's Eve at a bus stop in San Mateo.

San Mateo Police are asking for the public’s help in finding two suspects who robbed a Burlingame man at a bus stop at 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

The man, 57, was accosted by two suspects while he stood in the area of the northbound bus stop on El Camino Real at 37th Ave. in San Mateo, according to San Mateo Police on Thursday.

The victim was robbed of some belongings, but not injured. San Mateo police were unable to receive the information about this crime until the following day.

Both of the suspects wore ski-masks, and one of the suspects was armed with a knife. They were wearing baggy jeans and were of medium height and build.  A dark colored vehicle may have been associated with the suspects – the vehicle was last seen headed south (towards Belmont) on El Camino Real.

San Mateo Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the SMPD Investigations Bureau at 522-7650, the SMPD Secret Witness Hotline at 522-7676 or send an anonymous text to SMPD at 262-3473.
