The incident was reported in the weekly Chesterfield Police Department blotter as occurring at 8 a.m. Nov. 27 and involving a male student. Chesterfield Officer Mike Ryffel said the Parkway Central's school resource officer was alerted to the situation by the school's administrators.

Possible charges could include an MIP liquor violation, but since the case involves a minor, no further details were released.

And his family will pay a modest fine and the whole thing will be dropped. Is this really news?

Thanks for the comment Joyce. Police are involved and if my child went to that school, I'd want to know, so I would say it's news.
