Motorcyclist Exploring San Bruno Fire Damage Charged With Felony

Runs over cops foot fleeing the scene

Millbrae resident Paul Lee, 34 was arrested Friday after fleeing from police while he was riding his motorcycle through the fire-damaged San Bruno neighborhoods.

Police officers were patrolling the San Bruno hills and asked Lee to turn off his bike and provide identification. Instead, Lee sped away crushing the officer's foot in the process. 

Police chased lee through San Bruno and southbound onto U.S. Highway 101 to San Carlos where Lee surrendered.

Lee said he fled the scene because "he was just scared," San Mateo County Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

Lee pled not guilty on Monday to felony charges for assault and battery on an officer and for evading police. His bail is set at $50,000.
