Millbrae Woman Arrested For Abusing Special Ed Students

Redwood City police obtained an arrest warrant on Wednesday for Alexia Aliki Bogdis, 44, of Millbrae, who taught developmentally disabled or autistic children at Roosevelt Elementary School

A Redwood City elementary school teacher was arrested this morning on suspicion of child endangerment and battery on school property, police said.

Redwood City police obtained an arrest warrant on Wednesday for Alexia Aliki Bogdis, 44, of Millbrae, who taught developmentally disabled or autistic children at Roosevelt Elementary School.

Police had received a report from Child Protective Services regarding possible physical abuse of students over the course of the past few months by a teacher at the school. The alleged abuse involved two 4-year-old male students and was non-sexual in nature, police said.

Bogdis turned herself in at the Police Department this morning and she was booked into San Mateo County Jail.

According to school district documents, Bogdis had tenured status and was hired by the Redwood City School District in August 2006. Her name was still listed in the school's online directory as of this morning.
