Millbrae Marijuana Grower Gets Three Years Probation

Man sentenced for February arrest.

Millbrae resident Bill Dao Bian Qi, 33, was sentenced Tuesday to three years probation with a 160-day credit for time-served for growing marijuana with intent to sell.

, the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force arrested 10 people, including three Millbrae residents, during an undercover sting in the Bay Area.

Qi pleaded no contest to the charges, and in addition to probation, he will be subject to sporadic drug and alcohol testing and must not be in possession of any weapons. Qi will also pay a $220 restitution fine and a $75 per month probation fee.

The case for five other defendants is set for jury trial on Oct. 24. They are all in custody on bail – ranging from $50,000 to $1 million.
