Local Japanese Embassy Official Arrested For Domestic Violence

The vice consul's wife claims months of abuse from her husband, including stabbing her with a screwdriver, knocking out a tooth and stomping on her.

 

A vice consul of the Japanese Embassy in San Francisco is facing 13 counts of domestic violence for allegedly beating his wife repeatedly while they lived in San Francisco and San Bruno.

Thirty-two-year old Yoshiaki Nagaya and his wife have been married for nearly 18 months. Nagaya was recently arrested after his wife went to San Bruno police, claiming months of domestic abuse over the course of their new marriage.

According to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, Nagaya stabbed his wife in the hand with a screwdriver, knocked out her tooth, stomped on her and threw her out of a car. 

Nagaya is expected to be appear in court Monday for his arraignment. He is out of jail custody on $25,000 bail.
