El Camino Real Roadwork Begins

Residents can expect delays on El Camino Real through mid-June.

Travelers along El Camino Real in Burlingame, beware. There's about to be more traffic.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) began work on a two-mile stretch of the road Tuesday night. Roadwork spans from Ray Drive to Peninsula Avenue.

The repaving and repair project begins at Peninsula Avenue in the northbound lanes, although lanes in both directions will be paved.

Work takes place from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday through Friday and is expected to be completed by mid-June.

There will always be one open lane of traffic in each direction, and message signs will be in place.
