Cigarette May Have Sparked Fire in Millbrae Thursday

Officials are still investigating, though.

By Bay City News Service:

Firefighters extinguished a brush fire in Millbrae Thursday morning, a fire official said.

Three engines put out the half-acre blaze shortly after it began at 10:47 a.m. near South Airport Boulevard, according to Millbrae Fire Division Chief Ron Lavezzo.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, although it appears to have been possibly started by a cigarette, according to Lavezzo.
