Car Catches Fire in Millbrae Square Parking Lot

Firefighters put out the fire. No one was injured.

A car fire erupted shortly before 11 a.m. today in the Millbrae Square Shopping Centre parking lot.

It began with a lot of gray-brown smoke billowing from the hood of a pickup truck, but by 10:50 a.m., flames were billowing out from under the hood.

Police and fire officials were on the scene within minutes.

“I have no idea what happened. I was in Trader Joe’s shopping,” said the owner of the truck, who declined to give his name. “I was inside for ten minutes.”

Police and fire officials handled the scene calmly.

“It’s just a car fire, that’s all we’ve got,” said Millbrae Police Officer G. Chaghouri of the blaze.
