Blotter: House Egged and Mountain Bike Stolen

Read Friday and Saturday's police log.

Friday

2:57 p.m., 500 block of El Camino Real: A man was arrested for shoplifting. He was cited and released.

10:24 p.m., Rollins Road: A motorist accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the break. The driver had not been drinking but was embarrassed. Several plants were run over but there was no other collateral damage. The vehicle was removed from the island by a tow truck and driven from the scene.

11:41 p.m., El Camino Real and Millwood Drive: A group of tourists were seen J walking.

Saturday

7:09 a.m., 500 block of Santa Florita Avenue: A vehicle was broken into between midnight and 4 a.m. A window was smashed and two construction drills were taken. Loss is approximately $400.

11:53 a.m., Silva Avenue: A resident was upset because someone cut down a bush on her front lawn.

2:32 p.m., 1200 block of Broadway: A resident reported that unknown staff members might be entering her room and trying on her shoes. She also said that two T-shirts are missing from her closet. The missing items are valued at $40.

8:55 p.m., Chadbourne and Poplar avenues: Police were called when two 8-year-old boys were seen roughhousing at a church concert.

4:23 p.m., 100 block of El Camino Real: A suspect wearing a dark colored baseball cap, shorts, a white T-shirt and backpack walked into a garage via the Chadbourne side gate and somehow cut the lock that secured a victim’s black and gray 21-speed hard-tail mountain bike. The suspect fled via the same gate. Per the security video surveillance footage, the crime occurred at 12:02 a.m. The loss was estimated at $850. The video quality was not good enough to make out the suspect’s face.

11:14 p.m., 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue: Several houses were egged. No suspects or vehicles were seen.
