SFO Community Roundtable - Millbrae Is A No Show

Last night, SFO held a roundtable discussion about the issues affecting the communities around SFO.

As expected there was NO representative from Millbrae, yet every other city in the Peninsula sent somebody up.

The last election had a dismal 12% voter turnout, much lower than the ~20% county-wide turnout.

Not a single elected official in Millbrae made an appearance last night. Your concerns about noise are not being represented at this meeting.

Gene Mullin as well as I wrote an article about the upcoming SFO hotel. This is a project that will have a devastating effect to the existing hotel owners. I am also not in support of Anne Oliva's viewpoint that Site 5 or 6 near BART is the best place to put a hotel. It simply makes absolutely no business sense and the city cannot generate TOT (hotel tax) out of thin air.

Millbrae, expect more of the same after this election. While everybody is busy celebrating their election victory, I am still involving myself in the issues that I feel are important to be represented.

I will not give up on the town I grew up in nor allow our rights to be trampled on or people's voices ignored.

Expect more out of your elected officials and realize the local elections are just as important as the national ones!
