SFO, BE RESPECTFUL NEIGHBORS & BUY SOUND BARRIERS! YOU CUT DOWN THE TREES THAT PROVIDED AT LEAST SOME SOUND BARRIER PROTECTION, NOW GET SOMETHING ELSE! CHARLES NAVIGANTE, DO YOUR JOB WITH RESPECT FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS, OR STEP ASIDE!

The replacement of trees as a sound barrier against noise to help protect residents , is basically irrelevant now, since SFO savagely removed them in complete disregard to the comfort of its neighbors. What SFO did is a matter of intent. The airport, by cutting down trees that could help alleviate the sound for the adjacent cities, showed a distinct lack of concern for the welfare of those cities! The airport knew what it was doing, when the trees weren't replaced with anything, and it illustrates that they obviously don't care! 
Anyway, these jets and their loud engines, need more than trees to do anything significant to protect against the terribly invasive, intrusive sounds that emanate from them, frequently, and at all hours! SFO made a slight gesture of "sound proofing" some homes near the airport, with double pane windows and insulation, but the project was short lived, and really didn't provide significant help.  Burt, in their Noise Abatement department, is nothing more than a front man for the airport, deflecting the numerous complaints! (Charles Navigante is no better!) They insult callers who object to noise and vibration issues with comments of "you must be mistaken" or even worse, what was reported by one resident as having been said to them, "it's all in your head!" The airport isn't interested in making life better for residents; they want us OUT! I think their plan is to EXPAND! Millbrae has been touted in the news as a financially beleaguered city, businesses are leaving, and no new, or old, City Council, or City Managers (paid over $250,000 per year) will do anything to make any part of living in Millbrae better. Increased automobile traffic speeds through residential neighborhoods, and "the powers that be" do nothing about it; allowing people and homes to live in danger! Life here gets increasingly more miserable, but property taxes remain high! Who would want to live in a dying city with high property taxes? The city OWES it to its residents to keep them safe, and free from harm, at the very least, but that is a LAUGH; they feign at attempts, then remain inert! One really would get the impression that something very devious might be at play, and we residents are the victims! 
     When the airport moved to the Bay Area in the 1940's, it had a few prop planes, and infrequent flights. It now accommodates jumbo jets with sound levels that can deafen anyone exposed to them for long enough periods of time, and causing pollution and major health problems. SFO takes on fights that arrive, and leave at all hours. The influx of traffic and noise was never foreseen by anyone. By taking on more and more planes, residents are facing sounds, vibrations, and low flying planes at all hours of the night, with a brief respite of an hour, or two, then it all resumes again around 5:30 am, throughout the day and then increasing significantly at night. As you will notice, there is barely a break in the assault.
     Airports are supposed to be for the convenience of people, yet, SFO operates at the EXPENSE of people! It is an inconsiderate neighbor, who makes loud noise and pollutes without regard for others who live in their vicinity. They are dishonest, and don't own up to their actions. They tout themselves as being concerned, and they show their reports of low complaints, and complying with sound levels. We know SFO lies. They have established themselves as facile liars and are remorseless in the extreme. Their attempts at gaslighting are an affront to most sentient human beings, and may even surpass their outrageous noise levels!  
SFO has outgrown its facility. The only solutions are for them to cut back on air traffic, keep normal business hours, and install sound barriers. In other words, be a considerate neighbor.  If any of us committed even a fraction of SFO's transgressions, we would be spending quite a significant period time in a jail cell. Why does SFO get to continue on without serious ramifications? When did the worth of human beings fall so low on the monetary scale...or any other scale? Why are our complaints falling on deaf ears? Have those at SFO lost their hearing? (Too much jet engine noise?) What is their excuse for their lack of compassion? Usually money is the reason behind such lack of concern for others. It is most often the motivation behind the most atrocious and heinous of crimes. 
     We residents will NOT kow tow to SFO, while risking health and sanity. It is either SFO compromises, or goes! If not, we will start a class action lawsuit, and show them we mean business! HUMAN BEING business! I am tired of noise abatement committees that come up with no solutions, or if they do, they aren't implemented! There needs to be an investigation, and there needs to be CHANGE! Human beings were not put on this Earth to be abused by anyone, but especially not by those who work FOR us!
