New Rule: It's Okay for Mayor Gina Papan to Slander City Council Candidate Doug Radtke, as Long as She Calls Herself "Citizen" First!

Millbrae City Council candidate, Doug Radtke, was the third citizen speaker at the city council meeting Tuesday night (Oct. 8, 2013). He gave his opinion on a tax matter involving the city, which he based on research and his financial expertise. In very short time, Mayor Papan jumped up from her mayoral seat, and suddenly appeared standing at the podium, declaring herself a "citizen!" She immediately addressed Doug Radtke's report. She couldn't have eviscerated him more viciously, or with as much ferocity, than if she were a shark participating in a mass feeding frenzy! She not only insulted Mr. Radtke's proficiency at his chosen profession, but blatantly called him a liar! To say Ms Papan has no diplomatic sense, or skills, would be like saying Jack the Ripper merely liked to give extended pedicures! Is the Mayor protesting too much? Is Mr. Radtke touching a nerve? Mr. Radtke is running on a transparency platform, which I am sure in a city full of secrets and hushed tones, that ethic might seem extremely threatening! I can imagine the monumental, and frantic use of the cross cut paper shredders, at City Hall, when they find out Mr. Radtke will be joining them in Council Chambers! "Turn out the lights the party's over..."
