Marcia Raines, Millbrae City Manager, Says "NO" to Keeping Millbrae Kids, and Residents Safe!

Highly paid City of Millbrae, City Manager, Marcia Raines, has said she will do NOTHING to STOP RECKLESS, SPEEDING DRIVERS from endangering our pedestrians, or our CHILDREN! Cars speed along at 40-45MPH, and HIGHER along Millbrae Avenue, and the cars move along with barely a space between them, during the morning and evening commutes! That tells you they are also NOT stopping for stop signs either! They roar up and down the street, and frequently go over the center line to straighten out the curves. In some places where parking is allowed on a curved portion, it is necessary to go into oncoming traffic to move around the parked cars. There are also the times when people are getting out of those parked cars, and cars racing up the hill, must act fast to avoid hitting those people! I saw a head on collision that was caused by the very situation I mentioned. A car going up the small hill, hit a man who was walking his dog. There was an incident where a car landed in the yard of the home in that same vicinity. Cars are frequently jamming on breaks, and often spin out. The people who drive down the road in the morning are residents, but the majority of them seem to be just using the road as a shortcut to SFO, El Camino, and 101. They have no respect for our neighborhood, or our residents. Many children walk down Millbrae Avenue to attend high school. Ms. Raines KNOWS that, yet she obviously doesn't care! What is more important than saving lives? The Sheriff's Dept. promised to solve the traffic situation on Millbrae Avenue, but that promise was short-lived! What is going on in Millbrae? Our Police Department is GONE! We have a do nothing city council, and an even more lethargic, over-paid City Manager, who looks for other jobs while on duty here! Why do we even need a city manager? If she just rubber stamps "NO" on things that help the city and keep us safe; what is the point? Her $250,000+ salary would go a long way to making our streets safe, and keeping programs going in the schools! What city manager won't spend a few dollars to keep residents safe? What city manager could know that children are in danger, yet could still say NO to helping protect them? Marcia Raines, THAT's who!
