A waste management company with a dominant San Mateo County footprint launches its annual “Coats for Kids” program today.
Recology will collect new and gently used coats for those in need of a warm coat during the cold weather season at six Peninsula drop-offs including at two locations in nearby Burlingame today through Friday.
Millbrae residents can bring items for donation Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to Burlingame City Hall, 501 Primrose Road, or the Burlingame Library, 480 Primrose Road.

“It has proven to be a great program helping those individuals and families in need.”
Residents in the participating communities are asked to place coats in a clear plastic bag marked “Coats for Kids” and to then place the bag next to or on the top of their blue Recycle cart on their regular collection day next week.
Collection containers labeled “Coats for Kids” will also be placed at various locations throughout several communities and Recology offices where residents can drop off coats. The drop off locations can be used by anyone interested in making a donation, even if their city is not participating in the program this year.
