Photos: Millbrae's Earth Day Cleanup

About 80 volunteers showed up to help clean the city of garbage and recyclables left on the ground.

On a beautifully warm Saturday, volunteers gathered at Central Park to collect gloves, bags, and instructions from Shelly Reider, Environmental Programs Manager for the city of Millbrae.

Cub Scouts, students representing schools in Millbrae, adults, and families all participated in the day, purposely scheduled the week after national Earth Day so as to encourage a greater turnout.

A final tally of the amounts collected will be released shortly.
