Record-Breaking Temps Anticipated in San Mateo County

Monday's heat wave was expected to bring highs in the 80s to the Peninsula.

San Mateo County residents can expect record-breaking temperatures Monday afternoon as the region experiences an unusual heat wave for November.

The National Weather Service tracks the temperature at two locations in San Mateo County; at San Francisco International Airport and in Redwood City.

At those two locations, temperatures were anticipated to reach 84 in Redwood City and 81 at SFO, weather service forecaster Bob Benjamin said.

The all-time high temperature for Nov. 5 recorded in Redwood City was 81 degrees, recorded in 1997.

At SFO, the all-time high temperature for Nov. 5 was 78, recorded in 1993.

The weather was expected to cool down Tuesday and later in the week.
