Millbrae Woman a Finalist in Model Search

A Millbrae woman may soon grace the runways of New York, Paris and London as Madonna's new model.

Joanna Tsakonakis, 21, is a top 10 finalist in the search for a model for Madonna’s new teen clothing line ‘Material Girl Collection’, which will debut in the spring.

In the last few months, Tsakonakis and hundreds of other women entered casting calls at Macy’s stores across the country. The finalists list whittled down to three dozen women, and eventually 10 were chosen. 

Each woman will fly to New York City, where Madonna, her daughter Lola and Kelly Osbourne will pick the winner. The finalist will be the face of the spring 2012 advertising campaign and receive $5,000.
