Hemophiliac Millbrae Teen Talks to NY Times

Matthew Jajeh has been injecting himself since he was a kid.

The New York Times interviewed a hemophiliac Millbrae teen as part of an audio series on the disease.

Hemophilia is a hereditary genetic disorder that impairs the immune system’s ability to clot blood, so a minor cut could result in the person bleeding for days.

“Hemophilia really made me grow up a lot faster than other kids,” Matthew Jajeh, 16, told the Times.
