Caltrain Maintenance Scheduled for This Week

Caltrain has a number of construction and maintenance projects that will take place next week, including track welding between the Belmont and Millbrae stations.

Welding on the tracks between Belmont and Millbrae will take place between Monday and Friday, according to agency officials. The work is expected to take place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. to avoid delays to passengers.

Noise from the construction is anticipated while the work takes place, though Caltrain officials say crews will work as quietly as possible.

Other maintenance projects include the replacement of cross ties between the Hillsdale and Atherton stations, and spraying weed killer along the right-of-way between San Francisco and San Jose to help prevent brush fires around the tracks.
