So Many Burritos, So Little Time

Where can you find a mouth-watering burrito on the San Francisco Peninsula? Patch has you covered!

The burrito. It is the favorite food of many. As a Patch editor noted last week, "A burrito is like a present, it's like all of your favorite things wrapped into one thing."

And we are fortunate to live in an area on the San Francisco Peninsula to have many wonderful options to choose from.

In this week's Reader's Choice poll, hundreds of you voted and came up with your 13 favorites.

But let's take this popular poll and super-size it. Of the most loved burrito spots across our 13 sites, what do you think is the very best? Take our poll to vote on your favorite out of the top four vote getters!

The winner will be announced next weekend.

Too many omissions here. La Cumbre, San Mateo, Super Burrito, Milbrae for example. As for me , I prefer a burrito , where the the beef has a good char broil to it.

La Tapatia in SSF has hands down the best burritos! They also have the best carnitas I've ever had so a carnitas burrito is a MUST!!

Agreed, La Tapatia for carnitas burritos is the best on the Peninsula!

Tapatia burritos are the best around!!! Best carnitas I have ever had!!

La Tapatia burritos are huge, delicious and cheap.. Chile relleno burrito is my personal favorite!

Thank you all for your input! This past week, each of our 13 Peninsula Patch sites ran a poll listing all the burrito spots in each of our cities. This poll posted today just narrows down the list to the top 4 vote-getters. There are so many great ones out there... I LOVE Super Burrito in Millbrae too! And looks like there's a few in San Carlos, San Mateo and South City I need to try to : )

La Tapatia is outrageously terrific, clean environment, great service and the favorite amongst my friends and family. The Chorizo quesadilla with the freshly prepared quacamole calls my name. (I had one last night!) My son flies in from the east coast and drives straight from the airport to La Tapatia for a burrito before coming to see me, his only mother! Burritos from La Tapatia are prepared exactly to their devoted customers' specifications. yummmm!

If there are 13 finalists, why can you only vote for four of them?

Ceviches, San Carlos on El Camino! By far the BEST fish burritos!! La Corneta is also in San Carlos (as well as Burlingame) and has great burritos!

The El Paso on El Camino Real in Mountain View.

What about El Faro in South San Francisco?

Now, having read all the comments, I understand that only the top four vote getters are to be voted on. That should be in the article and not in a comment section.

La Tapatia is the best in SSF. But heck, I'd love to try one of the 4 listed here. The more burrito options, the better...
Sarah May 20, 2012 at 10:19 pm
La Tapatia has the worst service and their burritos are nothing to rave about. Plus they only take cash
Ray Cardenas May 21, 2012 at 12:20 am
Why you mad tho? Just saying
Ashley T May 21, 2012 at 12:21 am
La Tapatia is the best!! It's a take out place that trys to provide service as fast as possible because most of their customers are on the run.. I go for the awesome burritos and take out grub!! Get in and get out..

Ok, I tried a Chile Colorado Burrito at El Grano De Oro in Pacifica today, and no, it's nowhere close to being as good as La Tapatia, much less being the top 4 in the Peninsula. I might go there over El Faro though. Just sayin'...

Austin, I am loving your comments, here and elsewhere on the site. I think burrito loyalty may be the number one indicator of hometown pride.

El Grano de Oro + easy walk to the beach = win.
