Millbrae's Pet Food Express Celebrates K-9 Safety at Opening

At the grand opening of Pet Food Express, one dog received a special--and potentially life saving--gift.

Calling all Millbrae pet owners: there’s a new store in town barking for your business. Pet Food Express, located at 631 Broadway, held its grand opening this past weekend.

The opening featured a big moment for one special dog. San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Max received his bulletproof vest at the ceremony. Millbrae Mayor Marge Colapietro presented the vest to Deputy Kevin Giovannoni and Max.

K-9 Artos, Deputy Mike Marty and Pet Food Express owner Michael Levy, among otherse, were also on hand.

Previously, Pet Food Express has provided 5 Millbrae K-9s with specially designed bulletproof vests through its annual pet wash fundraiser. All Pet Food Express stores hold this fundraiser each year, with all proceeds benefitting K-9 safety.
