Map: Unemployment Up in Slightly in Millbrae from December to January

With the below map you can compare city unemployment rates across the state. Cities within 10 percent of state average are purple, red are above-average and blue below. Green cities are the lowest, below 5 percent unemployed.

The unemployment rate in the Millbrae in January increased to 3.2 percent from 3.1 percent in December, according to preliminary data released by the state on Friday.

Of course, compared to the rest of the state, Millbrae's unemployment rate is still rock bottom.  The state of California as a whole also saw a slight increase to 10.4 percent from 10.3 percent in December.

The figures above, including, Millbrae's, are not seasonally-adjusted, meaning seasonal temporary work such as holiday employment is not factored into the rate.  The seasonally-adjusted figure shows the state as a whole staying the same with a 9.8 percent unemployment figure.
