Residents have the opportunity through Dec. 10 to nominate their favorite Millbrae shop or restaurant for the 12th annual Excellence in Business Awards.
A four person panel, comprised of and Rotary Club members, will adjudicate four awards: Business of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Business Beautification and the Chamber Excellence Award.
"We look at businesses that have longevity in Millbrae," said John Ford, president of the Chamber of Commerce. "And that are involved and give back to the community."

In addition to contributing to Millbrae, the panel assesses business accomplishments, creativity and environmental awareness.
Ford expects about 30 to 40 nominations for each category, yet received less than 10 so far.

The Chamber of Commerce will present the awards at a dinner on Jan. 20, and people that nominate a winner will receive a complimentary dinner ticket.
Last year's winner was the Millbrae Lumber Company, and other past winners include , and Dawdy Photography.
